Are Military Helicopters Providing Entergy's Indian Point Off Site Surveillance, and if So Why?

Military Helicopter Surveillance of off site areas in and around the horrifically dangerous Indian Point nuclear reactors owned by Entergy? Anecdotal Evidence would suggest this very thing Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, and as a constituent of yours, and a stakeholder in the hosting community for these end of their lives reactors, I would like answers.

I've live inside the circle of death (that is the ten mile radius circle around Indian Point ) which would likely face possible immediate death, or would suffer exposures sentencing me to a death from cancer when these reactors are attacked, or suffer a cataclysmic reactor core incident (which I believe) is fairly probable. Having lived less than 3 miles from these facilities for over ten years now, I have a certain familiarity with normal aircraft traffic in the area, and instantly recognize what can only be described as abnormal flight traffic of a ominous and military kind.

I've seen not one, but two Chinook Heliocopters lift off from the military base close to where I live, then lumber down the Hudson to Indian Point, make what appeared to be a landing, and then return...Why? Even though as stakeholders we SHOULD have a right to know about and discuss the DBT, Homeland Security and the NRC have decided we are not entitled to know what risks we face hosting a set of problem plagued ancient nuclear reactors that were in the flight of one of the planes that crashed into the Twin Towers. Are there viable threats against this infrastructure target that our government is HIDING from we the citizens? Can you look into this Congresswoman Nan Hayworth and GIVE US HONEST ANSWERS.

Just a few weeks ago, there was a smaller military heliocopter that flew almost directly over my house at a height of well under five hundred feet making a B-LINE to Entergy's tritium leaking twin reactors...again, why, and what was that military equipment doing flying do very low in a RESIDENTIAL AREA? I would bet EVEN MONEY that said heliocopter was the Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche.

Today, though not as intrusive as the event above, we again had another military heliocopter do a CLOSE RANGE fly over in our community...I was baking at the time, so by the time I raced outside to take a picture it was dissappearing behind a tree about six blocks up from my home.

All this, and other close range flyovers can only suggest one viable answer...Our United States military (probably the Army) is providing Entergy with taxpayer paid for free aeriel security service for this dying set of nuclear reactors on the Hudson River...it begs the question we as stakeholders deserve to know...WHY? If we are facing a serious risk of a terrorist attack, if there is CREDIBLE CHATTER out there that Indian Point is a target of choice for international terrorist groups, we deserve to know, deserve the opportunity to evaluate our choices when it comes to living in an area targeted for attack.

Questioning Congresswoman Hayworth's Support of Nuclear

Yesterday in the mail, most of us living within the ten mile circle of death got our totally useless, non workable Westchester Country Emergency Guide...the first big change that I am sure our newly minted Congresswoman missed, is that said guide is NO LONGER called and evacuation plan...why you ask? Because the NRC has tacitly admitted that in the case of a significant accident, or in the case of bad weather, said evacuation plan will not work. The NRC and the nuclear industry's plan to address this reality...CHANGE OUR EXPECTATIONS, feed us propaganda in the hopes we will believe "Sheltering in Place" is a viable and workable alternative to evacuation. It is not.
Fact...sheltering in place in a well insulated home in your basement will only shield you from 40 percent of radioactive contaminants and particulates that would be in the air. Sure, you might survive the initial incident, but at what cost? Can we all say a collective chorus of CANCER, BIRTH DEFECTS, STILLBORN CHILDREN.
Step by step, lets go over the fatally flawed plan to have citizens living within the ten mile circle of death Sheltered in Place. Point out a few serious flaws in their plan.
1. Keep family and pets inside.
Why, for easy identification of the dead? To make it easier for military troops to come alone and quarantine us once it is safe for them to enter the area? Hello, sheltered in place during a nuclear incident at the problem plagued, Entergy owned Indian Point that is currently leaking the cancer causing contaminants tritium and Strontium 90 into our environment here in the host community will EXPOSE US TO SIXTY PERCENT of the radiative fallout from a serious nuclear incident or terrorist attack at Indian Point.
Sure, keep family and pets inside is easy enough...but should you follow that directive on the part of our government, and the nuclear industry....ABSOLUTELY NOT...get in your cars, get your kids AT ALL COST or they will be sent to camps, and LEAVE THE AREA.
2. Close all windows and doors.
This sounds good, and sure it will keep some contaminants/radioactive particulates from getting in, but ask yourselves this question...how does all that dust get into my house? Radioactive particulates will get in the same way, will ATTACK YOUR BODY, will stricken you to a far shorter lifespan, and will see you suffer the worst kinds of cancers and tumors you could ever imagine.
Being sheltered in place, you HAVE NO CHANCE OF ESCAPING RADIOACTIVE EXPOSURES in the case of a terrorist attack or serious nuclear event at the ancient and decrepid Indian Point nuclear facility.
3. Turn off heaters, air conditionsers and any other ventilation systems.
4. Extinguish fires in fireplaces and close dampers.
Lets just attack THE OBVIOUS here...if all your doors and windows are closed, why do they want you turning off these systems? Why can't we have a fire so that we have SOME WARMTH? Because they know that the radioactive particulates ARE IN YOUR HOME! Now, lets jump the next easy to attack problem with this part of the fatally flawed plan to have us *SHELTER IN PLACE*.
The weather! This is New York, this guide was released IN WINTER...now imagine if you will a severe incident at Indian Point during a NOR'EASTER. First, if there is a serious nuclear incident at Indian Point during a Nor'Easter, and you live on a side road, you CAN FORGET ABOUT SEEING SALT TRUCKS PLOWING YOU OUT! Secondly, lets just assume that as a part of this Nor'Easter/Nuclear incident, that the temperature is three degrees, with the wind chill well below ZERO....
I know you are arrogant and ignorant Nan, despite your pedigree, so PAY CLOSE ATTENTION HERE...why is it that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), FEMA, NRC (No Regulatory Control), Department of Emergency Management (local, state and federal) refuse to answer the following straight forward question asked by concerned stakeholders:
If we are sheltered in our homes with NO HEAT, during a nuclear incident at the dangerous Indian Point nuclear facility during a Nor'Easter, how long can we stay in our homes before we begin feeling the effects of Hypothermia?
Tell us Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, ARE YOU PREPARED TO GET THAT ANSWER FOR US, are you prepared to demand PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS SERIOUS FLAW?
5. Stay tuned t the Emergency Alert System (EAS) stations.
Lets be honest here folks...in the case of a serious nuclear incident at Indian Point, we ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE ELECTRICITY! Forget about phones, even if you were trying to call out, odds are you would be UNSUCCESSFUL No cable, no internet, and just how long do you think batteries are going to last...more importantly, if you are suffering from the mental slowness associated with Hypothermia, are you even going to be capable of remembering to change the batteries if you have spares on hand, will your hands work well enough as Hypothermia sets in to change said batteries?
Lastly, something that the NRC does not want you to know...THEY ALREADY HAVE FAKE PROPAGANDA MESSAGES PRE-RECORDED TO FEED TO US in the hopes of keeping us all from PANICKING!
6. Avoid using telephones, including cell phones, to prevent overloading the system and interfering with Emergency use.
So, you and your family are starting to SUFFER the effects of HYPOTHERMIA, you realize you NEED HELP NOW, or your ENTIRE FAMILY IS GOING TO DIE....don't USE THAT PHONE! Don't you worry, they will dump you into a BODY BAG, notify your relatives at some future date and time...or not if the incident is severe enough.
So, where are we? FUCKED comes quickly to mind, but we suggest ANY INCIDENT involving a release of radioative contaminants off site should be your CALL TO EVACUATE YOURSELVES, YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS, and YOUR PETS!
We suggest you DO NOT GO TO THE SHELTERS....reason why....they can only handle TWENTY PERCENT OF OUR POPULATION BASE IN THE CASE OF A NUCLEAR INCIDENT.
We suggest you take ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO GET YOUR CHILDREN...otherwise, there is a very real chance you may never see them again.
If you decide to shelter in place, baracade yourselves in, and be ready to use deadly force to protect your home and family...think about it, if there is a serious nuclear incident, the CDC has said people could be sheltered in place UP TO THREE WEEKS...that will mean potable water, food and medical supplies will very quickly be in very SHORT SUPPLY, and in the chaos, you can forget about any real police protection as looting takes hold in a every man, woman and child for themselves takes hold...just look at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Overly pessimistic view? Consider this....earlier this year, our government conducted a MOCK terrorist attack on Los Angeles...those table top exercises ALWAYS ASSUME best case scenerios, give emergency crews and citizens the benefit of believing they will all act PERFECTLY, execute plans without serious error. (Again, see Hurricane Katrina). In that exercise, it was determined that we can survive a nuclear disaster, but they also admit TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE THOUSAND CITIZENS WILL DIE INSTANTLY, and they fail to address how many of the survivors will die in say a five year period from cancers caused by said nuclear incident.
For those of us living in Indian Points ten mile circle of death, for all those that live within the 25 mile PLUME CIRCLE, our choice is simple....SELF SURVIVAL THROUGH EVACUATION AT ALL COSTS.
For parents....EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS....send letters to your school principles telling them THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR AUTHORIZATION to send your children to Reception Centers, or too School Reception Centers...our government has shown they cannot be trusted, and allowing your children to be sent to these centers puts them IN HARMS WAY!
Entergy, Indian Point, and our government have decide YOUR PETS ARE EXPENDABLE collateral damage...if you bring them with you to a Reception Center, they and you will be turned away....SO, DO NOT GO TO SAID RECEPTION CENTERS, which will quickly be turned into REFUGEE CAMPS full of crime, rape and rationing. AGAIN, evacuate, evacuate, evacuate.
It is recommended that you keep at least five ten gallon cans of petro on hand for your exit of the contaminated area.
The golden rule for survival of a serious nuclear incident at Indian Point...your life, the lives of your family ARE IN YOUR HANDS, not the hands of the Federal Government, not in the hands of First Responders who are ill equipped to handle an event of this magnitude.
ONE LAST IMPORTANT FACT...if we are in a real Nuclear Emergency, once you hear the alarms, it is already too late! Indian Point, Entergy, our own government will not use the alarm system except AS A LAST RESORT....so if you hear the alarms, it is EVERY MAN, WOMAN and CHILD for themselves! Take whatever steps are necessary to evacuate your family, and to protect your lives. Every Emergency kit should include both guns, and ammunition...we have a right to bear arms, and that gun you buy today might just save your life if, God Forbide, there is ever a serious nuclear incident at Indian Point.
To Congresswoman Nan Hayworth...I would strongly suggest you find out the true dangers of America's fleet of 104 nuclear reactors before throwing your support behind tens of billions of our tax dollars are given too the industry.

Nan Hayworth Wants To Give Nuclear Industry $100 Billion Of Your Tax Dollars

NUCLEAR ENERGY DOES CAUSE CANCER...THIS COULD BE YOU, and NAN HAYWORTH SUPPORTS IT.

Careful folks...much like ALMOST Governor Meg Whitman, Congressman elect Nan Hayworth seems ready to be a NUCLEAR WHORE on the House floor pushing for tens if not hundreds of billions of your tax dollars to subsidize the FAILING NUCLEAR INDUSTRY. Guess the fact that every citizen in her district (Due to re-authorization of Price Anderson Act) would lose their homes if there is (and there will be) a significant accident at Entergy's Indian Point does not concern her. Pricer Anderson makes it illegal for us to have home insurance for ANY NUCLEAR INCIDENT involving a nuclear reactor.

Guess also the fact that the commercial nuclear industry has NEVER DISPOSED OF SO MUCH AS ONE OUNCE of spent nuclear fuel does not bother her either...she is a LEAVE IT WHERE IT SITS money whore ready to reclassify these waste streams as potential future use resources with the passing of a bill that relabels waste, just like they did with the depleted uranium sitting at the gaseous diffusion plants in Paducah and Portsmouth. that is now used in armor piercing munitions.

The nuclear industry wants loan guarantees and flat out gifts from congress in excess of FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS, and Congresswoman Nan Hayworth wants to give it to them WHILE CUTTING OUR SOCIAL SECURITY!

From Article

Rep.-elect Nan Hayworth, R-Mount Kisco, said she would support more investment in nuclear energy and gas exploration, but opposes spending more federal dollars on weatherization and other energy-related projects that don't result in more jobs.

HEY Nan! Two Entergy Reactors Shut Down One Hour Apart...CAN WE SAY AGING MANAGEMENT ISSUES?

Nan, though you have your Ivy League degree, when it comes to nuclear energy, I have already decided you are a TWIT...yes, a TWIT. In the hopes of educating you, I would suggest you look into License Renewal issues...specifically AGING MANAGEMENT ISSUES, and how much the entire industry does not know about them, specifically how many problems the NRC has pushed off until after they grant their licensees permission to operate these dangerous facilities for another 20 years.

See, the safe operation of these over stressed, aging reactors is totally dependent upon the quality of a Nuclear Company's aging management program...contrary to what Neil Sheehan (nuclear dog and pony show of lies and double speak) will tell you, two ENTERGY reactors going down within one hour of each other was not “complete coincidence”, but a direct result of A) the NRC failing to adequately enforce 10CFR Rules and Regulations, and B) Entergy's woefully inadequate FLEET WIDE AGING MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS!

In more alarming than the EXPLODING TRANSFORMER, are the leaking pipes at Vermont Yankee (and both Indian Point reactors). Those leaking pipes can very quickly become PIPE BURSTS that will spew tens if not hundreds of thousands of gallons of irradiated water into the discharge canals (that Entergy DOES NOT HAVE A LEGAL EASEMENT TO USE) and into our beloved Hudson River here in YOUR DISTRICT. Even worst, is that could see a drop in reactor core pressure, thus creating a rapid increase in temperature, thus putting the core of Indian Point into thermal shock...NRC, NEI and the entire nuclear reactor community have admitted they know nothing about this subject, but not to worry, they have promised to FORM A STUDY GROUP at some future date to learn about it.

Making it simple...these VERY BRITTLE REACTOR CORES when subjected to thermal shock COULD SHATTER...hmmmmm....can we say over 500 BILLION DOLLARS in damages to your district?

But you go ahead and ignore these realities Nan, blindly support the nuclear industry...like I always say, "Sadly, the antinuclear grassroots community only needs one MAJOR INCIDENT at an American reactor to show we were right all along...you know, kind of like the BP Oil Spill, or Hurricane Katrina?" You truly are pathetic, and not even in office yet.

Transformer explosion at NY nuclear power plant

BUCHANAN, N.Y. (AP) — A transformer exploded at a nuclear power plant

north of New York City, leading to an emergency shut down of one of its reactors.

An official with the Indian Point plant in Buchanan says no one was injured in Sunday’s explosion.

The plant is owned by Entergy Corp. Company spokesman Jim Steets says no radioactive materials leaked.

He says the transformer was outside and not near the reactor. He said there was no fire despite earlier reports.

Indian Point 2 was shut down after the explosion just after 6:30 p.m. Indian Point 3 was operating normally.

It was the second shutdown within the hour at an Entergy-owned plant.

The Vermont Yankee nuclear plant in Vernon, Vt., shut down at about 7 p.m. after workers detected radioactive water seeping from a leaky pipe in the complex.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the two shutdowns were “complete coincidence.”

Nan Hayworth...Nuclear Power Safe Vital and Secure...INDIAN POINT TWO SHUT DOWN...two Entergy Reactors DOWN IN ONE NIGHT

WAKE UP NAN...The second Entergy Reactor in ONE NIGHT IS DOWN...yes you nuclear energy supporting numbnut who thinks Nuclear energy is safe...MAJOR TRANSFORMER FIRE shut down Indian Point 2 tonight, and where are you?

SLEEPING without a care in the world...maybe when you or one of your family is struck down by a Indian Point caused cancer, maybe if one of your children gives birth to a stillborn child (women living near nuclear power plants have increased risk of stillborn children) you will rethink your support of this fatally flawed industry that cannot LEGALLY and ADEQUATELY dispose of its waste streams, has not put one ounce of high level radioactive waste into long term storage!

Before you with your Ivy League education start supporting something, maybe you should adequately INVESTIGATE...your inane video on energy tells the world you are without a CLUE. Looking at your family WEALTH, your self vested interest in wanting to sit on certain committees in Washington DC tells me you are also without morals, nothing more than a demon spawn politician pretending to be human.

Entergy's Vermont Yankee is LEAKING AGAIN...Comment Nan?

So Nan, you back nuclear power, presume here that you back what has amounted to the NRC's rubber stamping relicense program that carries out the DOE's NERAC plan to save the nuclear industry for National Security reasons, regardless of the harm caused to local communities, regardless of the cancer deaths caused by continued operation. Breaking in the news now while you presumably slumber in your Mclain Street home there in Bedford, the Vermont Yankee nuclear reactor has shut down once again because the aging embrittled steam pipes are developing additional leaks. Like Indian Point, this ancient behemoth well passed its safe operating life is owned by Entergy...the NRC as it always does, claims NO IMMEDIATE DANGER to the general public (you should read the book by that same title). Surely you have a comment for the press?

Gee Nan, Let's DISCUSS Nuclear Energy and Indian Point

Nan, I already have it FIRST HAND from your Campaign Manager that you FAVOR leaving Indian Point, the trouble plagued cancer causing derelict set of reactors owned and operated by Entergy up and running while we explore all these new energy technologies...yet, when one reviews your video on Nuclear Power, it becomes obvious that you tried to weave NEI talking points together in an attempt to sell Americans on NEW NUCLEAR POWER, pointing out how these new reactors are far safer than the old 30 year old technology. First, the technology at Indian Point and America's other reactors is 50 even 60 year old technology. Secondly, I would like too address some of your talking points.

1. You speak about the need to build new oil refineries because the ones we have are old and outdated, said facilities being 30 plus years old. Do you know how old the Indian Point reactors are? Have you actually study the leaks and problems at this facility?

2. You speak about how much more advanced NEW NUCLEAR REACTORS are...you would be talking about the AP1000...these reactors are BIGGER, but rely on the same flawed technology on which Indian Point and other ancient relics were built. Secondly, they would not be using NEW FUEL, but the same fuel rods as are currently being used at America's 104 dying nuclear reactors.

3. The new fuel you speak of...lets talk about GNEP (Global Nuclear Energy Program) and the fuel it MIGHT CREATE. The AP1000 would not even be able to use the supposed new fuel that would be created in reprocessing old fuel rods...in fact, many argue that GNEP is nothing more than a means to reclassify current spent fuel wastes into potential future use resources, thus allowing said wastes to remain ON SITE at their current nuclear reactor sites for periods in excess of 100 years, DEFACTO creating 104 UNLICENSED high level radioactive waste storage dumps across America.

Even worse if you read the fine print...GNEP would allow any country in the world to sign on as a member, and once doing do, receive help in building nuclear reactors, would have their fuel provided by the United States of America, and when said fuel was BURNED UP IN THE REACTORS, the waste streams would be SHIPPED BACK TO AMERICA, thus making our nation the world's nuclear waste STORAGE DUMP.

You suggest that reactors can be placed in areas of the country where any harm to citizens could be MITIGATED...hmmm....NIMBY on steroids....are you thinking we can continue our bigoted and racist siting of reactors in poor communities, rural communities. Do you favor letting poor rural folks die of CANCER, suffer stillborn children so that you and your well heeled neighbors in Bedford can have CHEAP AFFORDABLE NUCLEAR ENERGY? It's ok for them to pay the price of your convenience? What's a few cancer deaths or stillborn children in a poor or rural community when you can have CHEAP POWER? Is that your position Nan Hayworth? The more research on your positions I do the more it seems like you are truly a Sue Kelly clone in every way.
