Are Military Helicopters Providing Entergy's Indian Point Off Site Surveillance, and if So Why?
I've live inside the circle of death (that is the ten mile radius circle around Indian Point ) which would likely face possible immediate death, or would suffer exposures sentencing me to a death from cancer when these reactors are attacked, or suffer a cataclysmic reactor core incident (which I believe) is fairly probable. Having lived less than 3 miles from these facilities for over ten years now, I have a certain familiarity with normal aircraft traffic in the area, and instantly recognize what can only be described as abnormal flight traffic of a ominous and military kind.
I've seen not one, but two Chinook Heliocopters lift off from the military base close to where I live, then lumber down the Hudson to Indian Point, make what appeared to be a landing, and then return...Why? Even though as stakeholders we SHOULD have a right to know about and discuss the DBT, Homeland Security and the NRC have decided we are not entitled to know what risks we face hosting a set of problem plagued ancient nuclear reactors that were in the flight of one of the planes that crashed into the Twin Towers. Are there viable threats against this infrastructure target that our government is HIDING from we the citizens? Can you look into this Congresswoman Nan Hayworth and GIVE US HONEST ANSWERS.
Just a few weeks ago, there was a smaller military heliocopter that flew almost directly over my house at a height of well under five hundred feet making a B-LINE to Entergy's tritium leaking twin reactors...again, why, and what was that military equipment doing flying do very low in a RESIDENTIAL AREA? I would bet EVEN MONEY that said heliocopter was the Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche.
Today, though not as intrusive as the event above, we again had another military heliocopter do a CLOSE RANGE fly over in our community...I was baking at the time, so by the time I raced outside to take a picture it was dissappearing behind a tree about six blocks up from my home.
All this, and other close range flyovers can only suggest one viable answer...Our United States military (probably the Army) is providing Entergy with taxpayer paid for free aeriel security service for this dying set of nuclear reactors on the Hudson River...it begs the question we as stakeholders deserve to know...WHY? If we are facing a serious risk of a terrorist attack, if there is CREDIBLE CHATTER out there that Indian Point is a target of choice for international terrorist groups, we deserve to know, deserve the opportunity to evaluate our choices when it comes to living in an area targeted for attack.

Questioning Congresswoman Hayworth's Support of Nuclear

Nan Hayworth Wants To Give Nuclear Industry $100 Billion Of Your Tax Dollars

Guess also the fact that the commercial nuclear industry has NEVER DISPOSED OF SO MUCH AS ONE OUNCE of spent nuclear fuel does not bother her either...she is a LEAVE IT WHERE IT SITS money whore ready to reclassify these waste streams as potential future use resources with the passing of a bill that relabels waste, just like they did with the depleted uranium sitting at the gaseous diffusion plants in Paducah and Portsmouth. that is now used in armor piercing munitions.
The nuclear industry wants loan guarantees and flat out gifts from congress in excess of FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS, and Congresswoman Nan Hayworth wants to give it to them WHILE CUTTING OUR SOCIAL SECURITY!
From Article
Rep.-elect Nan Hayworth, R-Mount Kisco, said she would support more investment in nuclear energy and gas exploration, but opposes spending more federal dollars on weatherization and other energy-related projects that don't result in more jobs.

HEY Nan! Two Entergy Reactors Shut Down One Hour Apart...CAN WE SAY AGING MANAGEMENT ISSUES?

In more alarming than the EXPLODING TRANSFORMER, are the leaking pipes at Vermont Yankee (and both Indian Point reactors). Those leaking pipes can very quickly become PIPE BURSTS that will spew tens if not hundreds of thousands of gallons of irradiated water into the discharge canals (that Entergy DOES NOT HAVE A LEGAL EASEMENT TO USE) and into our beloved Hudson River here in YOUR DISTRICT. Even worst, is that could see a drop in reactor core pressure, thus creating a rapid increase in temperature, thus putting the core of Indian Point into thermal shock...NRC, NEI and the entire nuclear reactor community have admitted they know nothing about this subject, but not to worry, they have promised to FORM A STUDY GROUP at some future date to learn about it.
Making it simple...these VERY BRITTLE REACTOR CORES when subjected to thermal shock COULD SHATTER...hmmmmm....can we say over 500 BILLION DOLLARS in damages to your district?
But you go ahead and ignore these realities Nan, blindly support the nuclear industry...like I always say, "Sadly, the antinuclear grassroots community only needs one MAJOR INCIDENT at an American reactor to show we were right all along...you know, kind of like the BP Oil Spill, or Hurricane Katrina?" You truly are pathetic, and not even in office yet.
Transformer explosion at NY nuclear power plant
BUCHANAN, N.Y. (AP) — A transformer exploded at a nuclear power plant
north of New York City, leading to an emergency shut down of one of its reactors. An official with the Indian Point plant in Buchanan says no one was injured in Sunday’s explosion.
The plant is owned by Entergy Corp. Company spokesman Jim Steets says no radioactive materials leaked.
He says the transformer was outside and not near the reactor. He said there was no fire despite earlier reports.
Indian Point 2 was shut down after the explosion just after 6:30 p.m. Indian Point 3 was operating normally.
It was the second shutdown within the hour at an Entergy-owned plant.
The Vermont Yankee nuclear plant in Vernon, Vt., shut down at about 7 p.m. after workers detected radioactive water seeping from a leaky pipe in the complex.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says the two shutdowns were “complete coincidence.”

Nan Hayworth...Nuclear Power Safe Vital and Secure...INDIAN POINT TWO SHUT DOWN...two Entergy Reactors DOWN IN ONE NIGHT

SLEEPING without a care in the world...maybe when you or one of your family is struck down by a Indian Point caused cancer, maybe if one of your children gives birth to a stillborn child (women living near nuclear power plants have increased risk of stillborn children) you will rethink your support of this fatally flawed industry that cannot LEGALLY and ADEQUATELY dispose of its waste streams, has not put one ounce of high level radioactive waste into long term storage!
Before you with your Ivy League education start supporting something, maybe you should adequately INVESTIGATE...your inane video on energy tells the world you are without a CLUE. Looking at your family WEALTH, your self vested interest in wanting to sit on certain committees in Washington DC tells me you are also without morals, nothing more than a demon spawn politician pretending to be human.
Entergy's Vermont Yankee is LEAKING AGAIN...Comment Nan?

Gee Nan, Let's DISCUSS Nuclear Energy and Indian Point
Nan, I already have it FIRST HAND from your Campaign Manager that you FAVOR leaving Indian Point, the trouble plagued cancer causing derelict set of reactors owned and operated by Entergy up and running while we explore all these new energy technologies...yet, when one reviews your video on Nuclear Power, it becomes obvious that you tried to weave NEI talking points together in an attempt to sell Americans on NEW NUCLEAR POWER, pointing out how these new reactors are far safer than the old 30 year old technology. First, the technology at Indian Point and America's other reactors is 50 even 60 year old technology. Secondly, I would like too address some of your talking points.
1. You speak about the need to build new oil refineries because the ones we have are old and outdated, said facilities being 30 plus years old. Do you know how old the Indian Point reactors are? Have you actually study the leaks and problems at this facility?
2. You speak about how much more advanced NEW NUCLEAR REACTORS are...you would be talking about the AP1000...these reactors are BIGGER, but rely on the same flawed technology on which Indian Point and other ancient relics were built. Secondly, they would not be using NEW FUEL, but the same fuel rods as are currently being used at America's 104 dying nuclear reactors.
3. The new fuel you speak of...lets talk about GNEP (Global Nuclear Energy Program) and the fuel it MIGHT CREATE. The AP1000 would not even be able to use the supposed new fuel that would be created in reprocessing old fuel rods...in fact, many argue that GNEP is nothing more than a means to reclassify current spent fuel wastes into potential future use resources, thus allowing said wastes to remain ON SITE at their current nuclear reactor sites for periods in excess of 100 years, DEFACTO creating 104 UNLICENSED high level radioactive waste storage dumps across America.
Even worse if you read the fine print...GNEP would allow any country in the world to sign on as a member, and once doing do, receive help in building nuclear reactors, would have their fuel provided by the United States of America, and when said fuel was BURNED UP IN THE REACTORS, the waste streams would be SHIPPED BACK TO AMERICA, thus making our nation the world's nuclear waste STORAGE DUMP.
